Renewal Music Collective is proud to announce the release of “Selva Maya”, an innovative single that fuses traditional Mayan percussion instruments with lyrics in both Mayan and Spanish, framed within hip hop and neo soul. This unique collaboration features the talented Mayan artists LA2C, MSW, Ángel Poot, and Román Dzul, alongside Renewal Music Collective founders Juan Carlos Sardaneta and Jorge Costa. The track will be available on all digital platforms starting April 27, 2025.

“Selva Maya” is a work that honors Mayan cultural roots while embracing contemporary urban sounds. Highlights of the single include:
Powerful lyrics: LA2C and MSW deliver verses in both Spanish and Mayan, blending hip hop and neo soul with personal and collective narratives.
Traditional Mayan percussion: Led by Ángel Poot, incorporating instruments such as the tunkul, pax, and ocarina to create deep, authentic rhythms.
Ancestral voices: Performed by Román Dzul, whose verses in Mayan connect with the spirituality and tradition of the Mayan culture.
In the production process, Jorge Costa and Juan Carlos Sardaneta used non-generative AI tools as elements of sonic and creative exploration.
